El Shaddai Kairos

Welcome to the El Shaddai Kairos page!

The Kairos Prison Ministry has been described as the most effective program for prisoners ever held.  An inter-denominational team of lay persons and clergy select up to 42 inmates to attend a 3-day weekend similar to the Walk to Emmaus.  During the course of the weekend, the "real person" that God made begins to emerge from behind barriers that were erected over years.  Inmates begin to trust God and to trust themselves and learn to love once again.  During the closing of the weekend, the inmates get the chance to speak to an audience of supporters and express what is in their hearts and profound effect the weekend has had on them.  If you would like to attend the Kairos Ironwood Closing on Sunday, November 6, 2005 and witness God's work taking place in our prisons, buses will be leaving for the prison in Blythe from Coco's Palm Desert, 1-10 at Washington at 2:00 pm.  You may contact Gita Belmont: gita@dcrr.com, for clearance forms and more information.  Clearance forms need to be submitted by October 10th. 

Please plan to attend Kairos #5 Calipatria Closing on November 13, 2005.  Contact Harry Lehren for details. (email the El Shaddai community for his telephone number)  Pre-approval is required to go into the prison to attend the closing.  Also, please hold the team and inmates who will experience that weekend in your prayers in the upcoming months. 

Kairos Outside Desert will hold their weekend December 16-18, 2005.  Please pray for the team and the quests that God will be using and touching through that ministry.  Do you know a woman who has a loved one incarcerated now or previously?  Would you like to offer her a safe place of comfort and love and people who understand the feelings she has about her situation?  If so, please contact Pat Hogan at pat.hogan@verizon.net.  Your friend may be a candidate to attend a Karios Outside weekend and become a part of that loving community.
